The Danish language branch of the WikiPedia was started on February 1, 2002, and was converted to the WikiPedia PHP code base in October that year. However, it was only in the beginning of 2003 that the explosive growth started. The Danish Wikipedia now holds a high rank on the BiggestWiki list.
