A community project offering free services to the public, including web hosting, webmail with pop3 and imap, shell/vnc computing accounts, dns hosting, webcalendars, wikis, blogs. The two servers are Alice and Beatrice, running Debian GNU/Linux "sarge". People from around the world participate: non-geeks, programmers and sysadmins, and several Debian developers.
Alice is a user-mode-linux virtual server. Beatrice is a twin-processor dedicated server in Italy with an unlimited 2mb/sec internet link.
The large team of admins provide quick and helpful technical support. Some people offer online education, web design, programming and other services. All of the services are free of charge, and there is no advertising or spam, this is a genuinely free community.
