WikiAsNapster

This concept has hit me a couple of times as I was pondering some of the potential of wiki. I realize that wiki is not a P2P file sharing mechaism, directly, but certainly could be used for that purpose.

Of course, you can already link to files on an ftp or http server. But, what of wiki in the P2P world? What if you included a Java applet in your wiki that allowed exchanging files in a fully anonymous way, a la Freenet? Could wiki be the next Napster, with a constantly changing range of content, not just mp3's, but discussions about different bands, concert reviews, you know, a wiki.

To generalize, I am envisioning a dynamic wiki with some kind of built-in hooks for file sharing. --MikePence

Mike, I think this is a great idea. A friend of mine who is a DJ thought the same think last year when I was describing wiki to him. MarkDilley (hmmm, I may have fallen to the RssFeeder, saw this comment from there and thought it was new . . .)'
