Point in fact, I discovered Wiki less than 24 hours ago and I've already found my niche in the Commons and Wikipedia. Or at least I think I have it took some help from those Twikis out there :)

This is pretty much a back-formation. Just as there once was just guitars, but the invention of the electric pickup and redesigns forced us to think in terms of electric and acoustic guitar, there once was just source, and when you shipped code, of course you shipped source. Of course, only those who got in with the computer got to see it, so only a few noticed when things started to change. RichardStallman noticed the change, didn't like it, and started trying to find ways to keep the code from closing. His GnuProject and the [GNU General Public License] are built to keep the problems that ruined the MitAiLab (in his opinion) from happening everywhere.
