A CorporateGovernment protects its own. When the almighty dollar (or yen or mark or dinar) has so much power that it can bully the puppet government into extricating wealth from the market by a sideband attack called taxation. This wealth is consequently given to the corporations who say thank you by providing shoddier products and services because, hey, they can just hit up the "government" for more cash later.
