Cross-site scripting is a species of Web attacks where users on one website will attempt to use scripts or user behaviour to initiate unwanted actions on a website on another domain. While some modern browsers help mitigate against this problem by preventing scripts from accessing data from domains other than the origin of the page, there are still a number of potential attacks, such as inducing users to click on a link.
