Frank Pennycook also edits on WikiPedia - there is some biographical detail on his [user page] there.

I find wikis fascinating and compelling. I can see people here do too. I have been wondering though, how possible it is to keep things constructive in the face of trolling and WikiSpam, with completely open editing? Some other wikis have found problems, and I am thinking about factionalism and the possibility of cultivating it but not letting it out of control. This would involve using some trust metric and selective editing. This might help enable collaborative discussion of issues where there is a strong PointOfView, such as politics.

I would appreciate comments. I will try to come back soon and expand on this idea.
