How will WebLogs affect the people growing up after 2003?
- Privacy -- some think everything should be on the web, some think the blog is a piece of art. "Nobody on the Internet knows you're a dog." -- but once you tell them on your homepage, nobody forgets. Perhaps blogging will create a CommunityOfGlassHouses? See WebExhibitionism, PrivacyRequired
- Trust -- Given the choice, trust people with blogs. All other things being equal, a blog increases VulnerabilityToCommunity and therefore it increases trust.
- Language -- like SMS and graffiti and diaries, a personal blog uses a very personal language; as people grow up, however, a blog stimulates written dialogue and improves written expression. Practice is practice, even if done on a blog.
