I'm a Ph.D. student at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.
I am in the Information Environments program and my research topic is Mobile Community Design.
Prior to grad school I was a usability consultant and user interface designer. Among other things, I'm interested in how design changes group behavior, how to enable collective action in groups, decentralized communication strategies, and design/development methodologies for mobile devices used by groups.
You can contact me at axup @ mobilecommunitydesign . com (remove the spaces to get it to work)

Welcome, Jeff. I was intrigued by your comment on CommunityMayNotScale. My perspective as well is simply that there is no difference between physical and online communities. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your stay here, and perhaps you'd be interested in what I do at http://kmdi.utoronto.ca? -- SunirShah
