Often, vocal advocates of FreeSpeech (and especially AntiAuthoritarians) discover a new CommunicationChannel in the form of an OnlineCommunity. Because the medium exists for them to use, they feel obliged to use it - whether anyone is interested, or not. The result is UselessSpeech (speech for speech's sake). The SignalToNoiseRatio is degraded. If asked to desist, they may resist, accusing more established community members of GroupThink, and possibly even cause a ForestFire. This is an AntiPattern that also occurs throughout the WikiLifeCycle, either early on when the community is still forming (especially if a new technology is involved), or later at the end, when the original members of the community have moved on and are no longer available to inform newcomers of the SocialContract of the community.
