Colin Ware (2000), Information Visualization: Perception for Design. (Academic Press: London, UK) ISBN 1-55860-511-8 (alternate, search)

Colin Ware has produced a text that describes in great detail how HumanVision works and how this affects interface design. It's simply excellent, explaining clearly and simply how the human eye and brain work together to produce our visual perception.

The book is not a manifesto like EnvisioningInformation or TheHumaneInterface, but a reference book packed with the facts you will need to understand why people see the way they do and what you should do about it. It does not try to convince you on mere rhetorical levels. It states the facts in an ordered, systematic way, and then gives deep technical suggestions on maximizing your visualization's effectiveness.

Highly recommended for those who want to go much deeper into interface design. -- SunirShah
