ObjectWiki seeks to fulfil the ComputerScience dream of putting ['first-class objects'] on the World Wide Web. This changes the nature of the web as a primarily static, read medium, to a dynamic, executed medium. This is a step beyond web services or web applications in the sense that it seeks to provide software components that can be reused by those web applications. Actually, it goes further in the sense that programs can run over the web without any human motivation, interaction, or involvement (they would hop from component to component). In particular, it wants to do this on a wiki.

An major inspiration for this is Whitescarver, J., Bhamidipati, R, and Roberts, M. J. [Toward An Architecture for Internet-based 'Evolutionary' Collaboration].

Related ideas are the SimpleObjectAccessPrototol? and the SemanticWeb.
