Hi folks. I'm new to MeatBall, so please forgive and correct any cultural gaffes.

I'm writing a chapter about "online tools for activism" for an O'Reilly book on Emergent Democracy, and looking for examples of wikis used in political and activist context.

Here are a few examples I know of, more welcome.

My company, SocialText, provides weblogs and wikis for corporations and organizations. The DeanCampaign? used SocialText to do collaborative news clippings. Every morning, between 5am and 9am, about 500 volunteers followed and clipped stories from the local news. At 9am, the campaign staff got together to plan the candidate's approach to the news of the day. Using a wiki let the campaign use a decentralized team, gather information quickly, and make decisions fast.

AustinWireless is a civic group devoted to education and deployment of wireless networks in Austin. They have a useful and informative wiki with their schedule and wireless FAQs. The AustinWireless wiki uses MoinMoin.

The guerilla wireless movement's adoption of wikis started with SeattleWireless and was greatly enhanced by PersonalTelco's adoption. They generally use MoinMoin. Other UseModWiki examples:

There are likely loads of WikiMedia examples, but I can't find them quickly. Here's a couple.
