There is a
StrongLink relation between webpages A and B <=>
- if A links to B then B links to A and
- if B links to A then A links to B.
Notes:
- It is so simple, that the relevance of it, wasn't recognized by many. Otherwise, why didn't the Web develop strong linking from the start on.
- Any decent WikiEngine automatically creates a StrongLink relation, between any two Wikipages, whenever one links to another. If a page refers to another one, click on the title of the referred page and you get the referer(s), i.e. "any page, that is pointed to, points back".
- If different (Wiki-) communities want to make them mutually aware, what is going on, to exchange working contexts, e.g. in order to avoid unnecessary duplication, then a [WeakLink] relation between referred pages is "better than nothing". But actually it is in fact a giant waste of energies, because the authors of the target pages have little chance to get notified from the other side, that something is needed or offered.
- During one surfsession, the user has the convenience of going back, by the back button or the browser history function. But this cannot replace a permanent StrongLink relation between pages, where only one refers to the other and not vice versa. Didn't we all experience sometimes deep links into interesting stuff, with no internal "home-" or "back-" link?
- Don't confuse the paradigm of StrongLink with that of BidirectionalLinks as a TechnologySolution, which is only a special case.
- The motivation for this parlance is to
- create awareness
- choose a shorter term for addressing the topic
- make it easier to talk about it and
- make it more persuasive:
"Are there not strong links between twins (aka TwinPages)?"
"For collaboration we need strong links."
Question: "Do you want to have strong links between all your linked pages or only weak links?"
Answer: "Of course I want strong links"
As a special case to strengthen the StrongLink paradigm, we can use userdefined TwinPages. Think StrongLink.

Discussion:
Normally all our new WikiPages on Meatball are shown, shortly after their creation on top of the [GoogleSearchResults]. Strangely enough, StrongLink didn't show up even in a short list. However working, better collaborating, on such a WikiPage gets it on the [GoogleRadar]. This entry might expand the awareness for StrongLink, motivating [IncidentalCollaboration]. -- [fridemar]
